If you currently have a ballast resistor in your system, you leave it in place. If you do not have a ballast resistor, one will not need to be added. Finally, if you have a ballast resistor, and have voltage issues, Pertronix instructs to give their ignitor a full 12 volt connection, bypassing the ballast resistor. That information can be found in the instructions for our part #8080.
