You may not need it, but the added strength and rigidity may be nice. And... it looks cool.
I recently purchased this housing. I will be building it for my bronco. I definitely use my rig, but I dont abuse it. Do you see any need to truss this housing? I will be running a Tru hi9 center section with 4.88 gears and a yukon grizzly locker with your 35 spline axles. I plan on running 37 inch tires.
